    • Not quite sure what you mean by flat and round in this case. Do you feel the image is distorted into a round shape, even when you are sure you are pointing the camera directly down? If so it might be the lens you are using. This can often be corrected by post processing software, especially if you use RAW rather than jpeg.

      • Thank you for taking the time to reply. Using post processing software takes long to correct the distortion. I’m using a point and shoot camera.

      • Most likey it is lens distortion then. If it is a zoom lens distortion may be less in the middle of the range – assuming you can get the framing you want there.

      • Thanks for the follow up. That is a real good idea, but sometimes i miss the richness of the composition as I’m forced to crop the image to avoid distortion.
